This month's word: Leucippotomy

Leucippotomy
"The art of carving white horses in chalk upland areas, particularly as practiced in southern England". Where only human forms appear the art is called 'Gigantotomy'.

The 'Long Man of Wilmington', or 'Cerne Abbas Giant', 70 m long, is one of the most famous of the latter, the 'Uffington White Horse' the most famous of the former.
